To be successful in this program, candidates for CMOM certification should have a minimum of one year of medical office experience. If you have less than a year of experience, we strongly recommend taking a fundamental training course like Management & Leadership for the Medical Practice prior to enrolling in CMOM.

Yes, certifications expire one year from your program completion date. In order to maintain certification, certified professionals must demonstrate their commitment to ongoing training to stay current in their knowledge and skills. To renew your certification annually, you will need to have completed 12 CEUs before your expiration date and pay a renewal fee of $75. Throughout the year, you will be notified of your expiration date and learn about opportunities for obtaining CEUs through webinars or the Online Training Center. You may also earn CEUs through training offered through other organizations. If you are unsure about earning credit for training, contact PMI for verification prior to enrollment.
